Get ready for a night where words hit hard!

Raw and real, the Poetry Slam brings together bold voices and brilliant minds from across the community, competing live in front of the judges to claim the ultimate prize.

Packed with powerful performances that will make you laugh, cry, and cheer, this is a night you won’t want to miss. Grab your tickets and witness local poets battle it out for glory, one verse at a time. The mic waits for no one!

Enter the Competition

The Bible is full of extraordinary poetry, so have a go at writing and performing your own poems inspired by the Bible. Finalists will perform in front of a live audience and panel of expert judges who will score your slam. The poets with the highest scores win!
There are three age categories, with prizes for the winners of each:

  • Juniors – ages 8-11
  • Youth – ages 11-18
  • Adult – over 18s

How to enter

Your poem has to be inspired by a Bible passage, story or theme. You can base your poem on one of the briefs provided, or you can find you own inspiration from the Bible. It must be no longer than 3 minutes long.

You can download the briefs and our top tips here.
